GOODYEAR, Ariz. –
Jeri Lafleche and
Avery Bartels finished tied for fifth place as the North Dakota State women's golf team wrapped up play at the Bobcat Desert Classic in fifth place on Wednesday afternoon at the Golf Club of Estrella.
Lafleche (72-71-72 – 215) carded an even 72 in the final round after being even on 14 holes to go along with two birdies to finish tied for fifth place. Bartels (67-75-73 -- 215) also came in tied for fifth place with a 73 (+1) after carding two birdies in the third round.
Hannah Dunk (71-77-73 -- 221) played as an individual and picked up her second top 15 finish of the season after notching a 73 (+1) with two birdies. The Janesville, Wis., native moved up eight spots on the final day into a tie for 12th place.
Bella Leonhart (75-74-75 – 224), who was playing as an individual, and
Madi Hicks (76-74-74 – 224) both finished tied for 26th place.
Norah Roberts (79-75-77--231) came in tied for 46th place and
Cora Larson (76-80-77--233) rounded out the group tied for 52nd place.
As a team, the Bison (291-295-296 -- 882) finished in fifth place in the 13-team tournament. Seattle (289-289-295 -- 873) won the tournament, while Montana State (287-295-287-- 876) finished three strokes back in second place.
