
Rodin, Nyenati Improve School Records as Bison Men Tune Up for Conference Meet

Senior Jacob Rodin and freshman Blake Nyenati broke their own school records on Saturday afternoon, headlining the day of competition for the North Dakota State men's track & field team at a pair of meets.
Rodin improved his own 800m school record for the third consecutive week, running 1:47.84 at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. He climbed to 29th on the NCAA performance list this season.
The rest of NDSU's competition took place at the UND Tune-Up in Grand Forks on Saturday.
Bison freshman Blake Nyenati lowered his NDSU school record in the 60m hurdles, winning in 7.90. Sophomore Brock Johnsen clocked a personal-best 8.02 in the 60m hurdles, moving up to No. 6 on the NDSU all-time list.
The Bison men swept the top four places in the 60m hurdles, with Logan Mathieu third in 8.12 and Jared Eggermont fourth in a season-best 8.35.
Sophomore Jacob Van Dusseldorp set a new career-best in the pole vault at UND, winning the meet with a vault of 16-07.25 (5.06m). He now ranks eighth in NDSU indoor history. The Bison men claimed the top four places in the event with Jens Christensen in second with a season-best 15-07.25 (4.76m), Travis Reighard in third, and Zach McGlynn fourth.
Junior Isaac Huntington won the 400m dash in an indoor personal-best 48.53.
Redshirt freshman Kaden Pastian won the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 65-07.75 (20.01m), standing at No. 9 on the NDSU all-time list. He is No. 59 on the NCAA performance list this season.
The Bison men swept the top three places in the shot put with Cam Landis (57-11), Levi Rockey (56-6), and Pastian (55-03.50).
The Bison will compete at the Summit League Indoor Championships in Vermillion, S.D., on Feb. 24-25.
