VERMILLION, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team finished third in the team standings at the Summit League Indoor Championships, which concluded Sunday afternoon inside the DakotaDome. The Bison men claimed two more event titles on the final day of the meet.
Senior
Jacob Rodin captured the second Summit League indoor 800m title of his career in 1:50.30. NDSU's
Josh Knutson,
Jacob Levin, and
Cullen Curl joined Rodin to win the 4x400m relay title in 3:16.16.
In the 400m dash final, Knutson (48.78) took second, Curl (48.82) placed third, and Levin (49.19) finished fourth.
The Bison men finished 2-3-4-5 in the shot put, with three of the four registering personal-best marks.
Clayton Hannula was the runner-up with a throw of 60-04.75 (18.41m),
Cam Landis was third at 59-05.75 (18.13m),
Levi Rockey was fourth at 58-11.50 (17.97m), and
Kaden Pastian took fifth. Hannula moved up to No. 7 in NDSU indoor history, and Rockey is now No. 11 all-time at NDSU.
The NDSU men finished 3-4-5 in the 60m hurdles final with a freshman and a pair of sophomores.
Blake Nyenati was third in 7.94,
Logan Mathieu was fourth in a personal-best 8.00, and
Brock Johnsen was fifth in 8.14.
Sophomore
Zach McGlynn took third in the Summit League heptathlon with a career-best 5,145 points to rank eighth in school history. Freshman
Paul Olson finished seventh in the heptathlon and took sixth in the high jump, clearing 6-07.25 (2.01m).
Zach Johnson (14:38.64) placed fifth,
Hunter Klimek (14:39.19) took sixth, and Jacob Knodle (14:40.30) finished seventh in the 5000m. Klimek now ranks ninth on the NDSU all-time indoor list.
Symon Keiser placed sixth in the mile with a time of 4:13.12.
Keiser Freetly was sixth in the 800m.
Elijah Hylen tied for seventh in the high jump.
South Dakota won the men's team title with 179.5 points. South Dakota State was second with 161.5, and the Bison took third out of the eight league schools with 144.5 points.
