SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State has swept the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week awards after Sophomore
Jo Baranczyk and junior
Nate Adams picked up the honor on Thursday.
Baranczyk helped guide the NDSU women's golf team to its second straight top five finish in the spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational last week. The Green Bay Wis., native put together rounds of 74, 73 and a career-low 70 in the final round for a career-low 217 to finish in second place. Baranczyk, who earned her first career Peak Golfer of the Week award, tallied four birdies to finish -2 on the par 72 course in the final round.
Adams picked up medalist honors to lead the Bison men's golf team to a second-place finish at the GCU Invitational. Adams, who shot a -7 round of 64 on Monday to take the lead, never trailed on Tuesday as he carded a -3 round of 68 for the second time in the tournament to win the individual title by two strokes over TCU's Gustav Frimodt.
Adams finished at -13 with a three-round total of 200. It's the second victory of the season for Adams, who also won the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in late October. It is the fifth overall medalist honor for the Bison this season.
NDSU women's golf will be back in action on Saturday at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz. Bison men's golf is idle until the Redhawk Invitational on Monday, April 3 in Tacoma, Wash.
