LONG BEACH, Calif. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team opened three days of competition in southern California with action at a pair of meets on Thursday.
At the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate hosted by Long Beach State,
Jacob Levin was the runner-up in the 200m dash, clocking 21.14 for the second-fastest time of his career.
Trevor Otterdahl placed third overall (second collegian) in the hammer throw with a mark of 222-5 (67.80m). Senior
Tristan Bush recorded a personal-best in the hammer for the third straight meet, throwing 199-11 (60.93m) to rank 11th all-time at NDSU.
The Bison men finished 2-4-6 in the shot put with Otterdahl (61-0 / 18.59m),
Clayton Hannula and
Cam Landis. Hannula registered a new outdoor PR of 60-1 (18.31m) that ranks him 11th in NDSU history.
NDSU's
Josh Knutson ran 54.04 to take third in the 400m hurdles.
Logan Mathieu led the Bison men in the 110m hurdles, running 14.78. Mathieu also clocked a personal-best 10.78 in the 100m dash.
Koate Deebom posted an outdoor triple jump personal-best of 45-09.25 (13.95m) for ninth place.
Cullen Curl was the top Bison in the 400m dash, placing 19th in 49.27.
Senior
Brandon Lewis recorded a season-best 23-00.50 (7.02m) in the long jump. Freshman
Jarod White cleared 16-05.25 (5.01m) in the pole vault, and
Jacob Van Dusseldorp cleared 15-11.25 (4.86m).
Sophomore
Kaden Pastian led the Bison in the discus at Long Beach with a throw of 169-9 (51.76m).
Competition will continue Friday and Saturday at Long Beach State and Azusa Pacific.
