Adams Shares Victory at RedHawk Intercollegiate

FOX CHAPEL, Pa. – North Dakota State men's golf's Nate Adams earned co-medalist honors at the RedHawk Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Field Club to close out the regular season for the Bison with his third individual victory of the year.

For the third-straight round, in the midst of heavy winds rain and some snow, Adams led the way for the Bison, as he finished as the only golfer in the tournament field to shoot par or better in every round. Adams finished with his second even par round of 71 to remain at -1 and finish tied with Richmond's Cole Ekert for the top spot.

The win for Adams is the fifth individual victory overall for NDSU this season, and led the way for NDSU, who finished in a tie for sixth place with George Washington at +33 over three rounds.

Adams started strong with birdies on the first and third holes, before falling back to even par before the turn. Adams would add his third and final birdie of the day on the 11th, as he finished at -5 on the hole in three rounds. He would card six more pars and had one more bogey, to fall back to even for the round and -1 for the event.

Brock Winter was one shot behind Adams on the day, as he carded his second-straight 72 after opening with a 77. Winter climbed the leaderboard with five birdies in his round, as he finished in a tie for 16th place at +8.

Nate Deziel finished one shot back of Winter after a 73 in his final round. Deziel had a pair of birdies in the final round and moved up a couple places as well, finishing in a tie for 21st place at +9.

Ian Simonich wrapped up the scoring for the Bison in the final round with a 79. Simonich had a pair of birdies to highlight his round, but finished with just seven pars, as he fell to a tie for 63rd place overall. Gavin Cronkhite also dropped places in the final round, as he shot an 80, falling to a tie for 73rd.

North Dakota State will have a week off before making a trip to Lincoln, Nebraska for The Summit League Championship. The three-day event will start April 30 and take place at the Wilderness Ridge Country Club.
