
Knodle, Johnson Post Fastest Bison 10,000m Races in 16 Years

DES MOINES, Iowa – A pair of North Dakota State University distance runners – one from West Fargo, N.D., and the other from Moorhead, Minn. – clocked the school's fastest 10,000m races since 2007 on Thursday night at the Drake Relays.
Redshirt freshman Jacob Knodle (West Fargo Sheyenne HS) ran the fastest 10,000m by a Bison in 16 years, clocking 30:17.82 to stand at No. 7 in school history.
Bison junior Zach Johnson (Moorhead HS) ran a personal-best 30:27.76 in the 10,000m, cutting 30 seconds off his previous best to rank eighth-fastest in NDSU history.
Payton Smith posted the second-fastest 3000m steeplechase time of his career, finishing in 8:59.34 at Drake. He is No. 5 all-time at NDSU in the event.
At the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, Jake Arason won the 3,000m steeplechase in a personal-best 9:01.40, which puts him ninth on the NDSU all-time list.
NDSU's Josh Knutson won the 400m hurdles in 52.71 at the Kip Janvrin Open, and Cullen Curl placed fifth in 54.52.
Dante White posted a big personal-best of 21.61 in the 200m dash and tied his personal-best in the 100m dash with a time of 10.61, taking seventh place.
Koate Deebom placed fourth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 22-10 (6.96m). Brock Johnsen led the Bison men in the 110m hurdles at the Kip Janvrin Open, running 14.84 for eighth place.
