#ProBison Update: NDSU in the NFL – Week 1

The ProBison Update is presented by the North Dakota Beef Commission.
A pair of North Dakota natives earned starts on the offensive line, highlighting Week 1 for former North Dakota State football players in the NFL.
Rookie Cody Mauch and second-year lineman Cordell Volson both started at guard and played every snap for their respective teams. With Mauch earning a starting nod in Week 1, he joined Volson in making it a second straight season that a Bison rookie started Week 1 of the NFL season on the line.
There are currently 11 former Bison football players on NFL rosters – 10 on active rosters and one on a practice squad.
Cordell Volson
Team: Cincinnati Bengals (#67)
2nd Season, Offensive Line
Week 1: Started at left guard and played all 56 offensive snaps in the Bengals' 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Cody Mauch
Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (#69)
1st Season, Offensive Line
Week 1: Started at right guard and played all 68 offensive snaps in the Buccaneers' 20-17 road win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Chris Board
Team: New England Patriots (#45)
6th Season, Linebacker
Week 1: Played 27 snaps on special teams in the Patriots' 25-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hunter Luepke
Team: Dallas Cowboys (#40)
1st Season, Fullback
Week 1: Played 16 total snaps – 12 on special teams and 4 on offense – in the Cowboys' 40-0 road win over the New York Giants.
