COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – The North Dakota State women's golf team is in ninth place after the opening round of play at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The Bison recorded a first round score of 296 and sit in ninth place in the 13-team tournament. Gonzaga (284) holds a three-stroke edge in first place. San Francisco (287) is in second place and UC Davis (288) closes out the top three in third place.
Madi Hicks (73) and
Elise Hoven (73) both finished +2 on the par 71 course and are tied for 20th place.
Norah Roberts (75), who was even on 14-of-18 holes, is tied for 32nd place.
Leah Skaar (75) is also tied for 32nd place and
Cora Larson (80) rounds out the group tied for 65th place.
Catherine Monty (80) also participated as an individual and is tied for 65th place.
The average score in the first round of play was 74.81.
NDSU will continue play at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational on Monday.
