OXBOW, N.D. – The North Dakota State Women's Golf team finished tied for first place with St. Thomas at the NDSU Fall Invitational at the Oxbow Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bison put together rounds of 309 and 307 for a two-round total of 616. St. Thomas (314-302--616) also finished with 616 to tie the Bison. South Dakota (323-299--622) finished six strokes back in third place with a score of 622, while North Dakota (327-312—639) rounded off the four-team tournament in fourth place with a score of 639.
Leah Skaar (76-75—151) and
Madi Hicks (77-74—151) finished +7 over two rounds to tie for first place. Skaar notched one birdie in the final round to move up one spot on the leaderboard. Hicks also climbed her way up the leaderboard with three birdies in round two. It marks the second career win for Skaar and first for Hicks.
Norah Roberts (78-78—156) cracked the top 10 in her first collegiate tournament finishing in eighth place, while
Elise Hoven (78-80—158) finished tied for 10th place.
Catherine Monty (85-77—162) came in tied for 17th place, while
Cora Larson (84-82—166) finished tied for 19th place.
Ava Wallerich (83-84—167) posted a tied for 23rd place finish and
Jo Baranczyk (84-85--169) closed out the group in 26th place.
NDSU will be back in action at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational in Provo, Utah on Sept. 10-12.
