PALM DESERT, Calif. – The North Dakota State women's golf team bounced back with a 4-1 win over Portland State on day two of the Mountain Classic Match Play at the Classic Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Catherine Monty got the Bison off to fast start winning back-to-back holes on five and six to open up a two-hole lead. She then went on to secure holes 12 and 13 to seal the 6 & 5 victory.
Norah Roberts fought her way through the second matchup to all square by hole 16. However, Mariana Garcia Rosette stole the 17th hole to pick up the 1&0 win.
Leah Skaar answered for the Bison in her match after being all square through four before she won the next seven straight holes to secure the 7&6 victory.
Madi Hicks kept the momentum going in her match jumping out to a three-hole lead through five holes. She then stretched her edge to four after winning hole nine and went on to earn the 5&4 win.
Elise Hoven closed out the match building a four-hole lead by hole nine. She then added another win on hole 11 to help pick up the 5&4 win.
