PHOENIX – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Grand Canyon Invitational at GCU Golf Course on Wednesday.
The Bison (295-290-289 -- 874) finished the final round with a three-round total of 874, which ranks as the fourth-lowest in program history to finish in 10th place in the 21-team tournament. New Mexico State (279-280-287--846) won the tournament finishing -18.
Elise Hoven (72-76-70 -- 218) led the way for NDSU finishing tied for 31st place after carding a 70 (-2) with four birdies in the final round.
Catherine Monty (76-70-74 -- 220) and
Norah Roberts (73-74-73--220) both finished tied for 42nd place. Monty, who posted a season-low 70 in round two, notched three birdies in the final round to finish +2. Roberts tallied a career-low 54-hole total of 220 and registered three birdies in the final round to come in +1.
Leah Skaar (74-74-72 -- 220) carded with an even 72 on the final round with five birdies to finish tied for 42nd place.
Madi Hicks (76-72-74 – 222) also finished tied for 54th place and tallied three birdies to come in +2 in the third round.
Cora Larson (76-75-71 – 222) finished tied for 54th place, while
Jo Baranczyk (82-72-76 – 230) closed out the group tied for 90th place. Both competed as individuals.
