CORVALLIS, Ore. – North Dakota State baseball fell at No. 6 Oregon State 19-7 Thursday evening in non-conference action at Goss Stadium.
 
The Bison would start strong, plating five runs in the top of the first. After loading the bases, Jack Steil and Davis Hamilton had bases loaded walks and Sam Canton brought in another with a hit by pitch. Kyle Law and Luis Garcia then brought in two more runs with RBI groundouts, as the Bison forced Oregon State to the bullpen early.
 
However, Oregon State would answer back with four runs in the bottom of the first, and then tacked on five more in the second after Canton gave NDSU a 6-4 lead with a sacrifice fly in the top half.
 
After the Beavers added three more runs in the fourth and fifth, Cadyn Schwabe would pick up an RBI single, but it would be the final run of the game for the Herd. Oregon State would add four more runs in the sixth to wrap the scoring on the evening.
 
Colten Becker and Luis Garcia would have two hit nights. Becker had a triple and also had a walk. He finished with two runs scored. Garcia had a pair of singles and an RBI. Schwabe, Steil and Law each had a walk and a single. Will Busch finished with a pair of walks to also reach safely multiple times in the contest. Reese Ligtenberg picked up the loss in relief, allowing three runs in two-third of an inning.
 
The Bison will return to action against Oregon State on Friday, with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch scheduled from Goss Stadium for game two of four in the series.
