FARGO, N.D. - Four football players from North Dakota State University signed free-agent deals with National Football League clubs following the 2024 NFL Draft, which concluded Saturday, April 27.
NDSU offensive lineman
Jalen Sundell signed with the Cleveland Browns. Sundell, from Maryville, Mo., started all 15 games at left tackle last season after playing the previous three seasons at center. He was a first team AFCA FCS All-American and third team Stats Perform FCS All-American in 2023. Sundell graduated from NDSU with a degree in criminal justice.
Fellow offensive lineman
Jake Kubas signed with the New York Giants. Kubas, from Dickinson, N.D., was a three-year starter at right guard and was named first team Stats Perform FCS All-America, second team Phil Steele FCS All-America, and third team Associated Press FCS All-America in 2023. NDSU running back
TaMerik Williams signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Originally from Angleton, Texas, Williams spent his first two years at SMU before transferring to NDSU for three seasons. Bison cornerback and punt returner
Jayden Price signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Price, from Derby, Kan., was a third team Stats Perform FCS All-America punt returner and fourth-team Phil Steele FCS All-America punt returner in 2021. He broke the NDSU career record for punt return touchdowns with five. He played 71 career games and made 107 tackles with three interceptions and 14 pass breakups. Price graduated from NDSU with a marketing degree.
Additionally, former Bison wide receiver
Zach Mathis earned rookie mini camp invites from the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This was the first time since 2018 that North Dakota State did not have a player selected in the seven-round NFL Draft. The Bison had 13 former players selected in the 10-year span from 2014 to 2023, more than any other program in the Football Championship Subdivision.
