Jo Baranczyk and
Madi Hicks are positioned inside the top five as the North Dakota State women's golf team is on top of the leaderboard after day one at the Stampede at the Creek at Indian Creek Golf Course on Monday.
The Bison assembled rounds of 299 and 299 for a two-round total of 598 for first place in the 10-team tournament. St. Thomas (298-308--606) is in second place, while South Dakota State (301-308--609) is slotted in third place.
Baranczyk (72-73--145) is in first place after carding an even 72 in the opening round with three birdies. She followed it up with a 73 (+1) in the second round after connecting on five birdies. Hicks (74-74--148) posted a 74 (+2) in the first round and following it up another 74 (+2) in the second round to be tied for third.
Elise Hoven (79-74--153) climbed up 18 spots on the leaderboard in round two after carding a 74 (+2) with three birdies to move into tied for 12th place.
Norah Roberts (76-78--154) is also slotted inside the top 20 tied for 16th place.
Cora Larson (78-80--158) is tied for 29th place and
Catherine Monty (77-85--162) closed out the group tied for 45th place.
NDSU will finish play at the Stampede at the Creek on Tuesday.
