Basketball season tips off with a border town showdown on Oct. 23, as the North Dakota State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball teams come together for a cause that reaches beyond the court.
Red River Hoops for Charity presented by Gate City Bank is set for Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. inside the Scheels Center on the NDSU campus.
The exhibition game will not only showcase two local basketball programs, but will also make a positive impact in the community. For every ticket sold, Gate City Bank will donate $1 to charity, with proceeds benefiting each school's designated organization.
Fans can show their school pride and support a great cause by using a special promo code when purchasing tickets at GoBison.com/Tickets, designating whether their ticket supports the Bison or the Dragons. Bison fans will use the promo code HORNSUP for Gate City Bank to donate $1 per ticket to GiGi's Playhouse. Dragon fans will use FIREDUP for Gate City Bank to give $1 per ticket to Make-A-Wish Minnesota. Every ticket purchased using the promo code helps make a difference.
"This game was already a special opportunity to showcase our basketball programs in Fargo-Moorhead, but with Gate City Bank's involvement, now we can also give back and help elevate the community that has always been so great to us," said NDSU men's basketball coach David Richman.
