Lauren Jansen was named Kwik Star Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week for the first time in her career and freshman defensive specialist
Rya Borer was tabbed the Kwik Star Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bison, who have started Summit League play with a 3-0 mark for the second time in the last four seasons, swept the weekly awards after picking up a 3-2 win at Kansas City and a 3-1 win at Omaha last week.
Jansen posted a team-high 36 kills and averaged a team-best 4.0 kills per set. The Plainfield, Ill., native registered a .264 hitting percentage with only eight errors on 106 attacks. She also added 21 digs and averaged 2.33 per set on the defensive side. Jansen recorded a match-high and season-best 19 kills with 12 digs in the win over Kansas City and wrapped the trip with a match-best 17 kills with nine digs in the win over Omaha.
Borer recorded a team-high 41 digs and averaged a team-best 4.56 digs per set. She recorded a season-best 24 digs with 10 assists for her first career double-double in the win at Kansas City. The Lincoln, Neb., native closed the week with a team-best 17 digs in the win at Omaha.
