Knodle Paces NDSU Men to 19th at NCAA Midwest Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – The North Dakota State men's cross country team took 19th out of 32 teams at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday morning.
The Bison men finished with 544 points. Host Oklahoma State captured the men's team title, and Iowa State took second for the other automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Championships.
NDSU senior Jacob Knodle placed 53rd, clocking a personal-best 31:59.6 for the 10k race. Sophomore Ivan Askim took 90th in 32:49.8, and junior Will Gerber was 97th in 32:57.2.
Sophomore Quinn Roehl finished 148th with a time of 34:00.9, and sophomore Carl Rekow completed NDSU's team scoring in 34:19.5 for 161st place.
Knodle and Gerber both posted the highest regional finishes of their careers. Friday was the NCAA Cross Country Regional debut for Askim, Roehl and Rekow.
