SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior forward
Avery Koenen has been named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Koenen helped guide the Bison (3-2) to an 83-72 win over Tulane last week. The Montevideo, Minn., native posted her second straight 20-point game with a team-best 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Koenen hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. She also tied a career-best five assists with three steals against the Green Wave.
Koenen is shooting a team-best 73.9 percent from the field this season through the first five games, which leads the Summit League and ranks second the nation. Audi Cooks from Iowa State leads the nation in field goal percentage shooting 75.8 percent.
