Three-Point Shooting Keys NDSU Women’s Basketball Road Win over Campbell, 71-49

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Dakota State women's basketball team buried a season-high nine three-pointers in the 71-49 win over Campbell at the Osprey Thanksgiving Classic at UNF Arena on Friday afternoon.
Marisa Frost posted a season-best 21 points with four assists, two rebounds and one block. The Lino Lakes, Minn., native shot 6-of-11 from the field, 6-of-6 from the free throw line and drained a season-best three triples over 35 minutes. Abby Krzewinski netted a season-high 15 points with seven rebounds, while Avery Koenen reached double digits in the scoring for the sixth straight game with 12 points and five rebounds.
As a team, the Bison (4-2) shot 49.0 percent (25-51) from the field and 45.0 percent (9-20) from three. NDSU connected on nine triples with Frost and Krzewinski delivering three each. The Bison also limited an opponent to 50 points or less for the second time this season after holding Campbell (4-4) to 49 points.
After opening up a 20-18 lead after the first quarter of play, the Bison erupted outscoring the Fighting Camels in the second frame, 17-7. Krzewinski sparked the big frame for NDSU after she delivered back-to-back three-pointers to make the score 34-24 with 1:50 play in the half. The Bison limited the Fighting Camels to 1-of-11 shooting from the field in the frame and led the half, 37-25.
Campbell made one final push in the third quarter putting together a quick 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 48-38 following a pair of free throws from N'Na Konate at the 1:43 mark. NDSU responded in the fourth quarter increasing its lead to 16 after Karrington Asp tipped in a layup to make the score 57-41 with 6:40 remaining. The Bison closed out the remaining time to earn the 71-49 victory.
NDSU will wrap up play at the Osprey Thanksgiving Classic tomorrow against Bethune-Cookman. Tip-off is set for 10:00 a.m. CT
