FARGO, N.D. – Lewis Walker has returned to North Dakota State University as the cornerbacks coach for the Bison football team, head coach
Tim Polasek announced Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Walker coached the Bison corners in 2022 and 2023 before taking the defensive coordinator position at Monmouth the past two seasons. He replaces Will Johnson, who was named defensive backs coach at Central Florida.
Walker's first stint at NDSU came after five seasons at Monmouth, where he was part of two Big South Conference championships. He coached the defensive secondary and return specialists and produced three FCS All-Americans.
Walker started his coaching career in Utah at Copper Hills High School in 2014 before spending the 2015 and 2016 seasons with Columbia University (N.Y.) as a defensive quality control, defensive backs and returners coach.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Walker was a defensive back for three years at Hawaii before transferring to Utah for his final two seasons. He earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Utah in 2013.
