FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State wrestling fell to No. 3 Iowa State 36-3 Sunday afternoon in the Big 12 home opener for the Bison at the Scheels Center inside the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
Devin Wasley picked up the lone win for the Bison in the dual at 197 pounds, taking down CJ Carter in a come-from-behind 10-4 win. Carter scored the opening takedown and took a 4-1 lead after an escape to start the second. However, Wasley recorded a takedown and four back points on a near fall to take an 8-4 lead. Wasley then chose top and scored a rideout in the third to seal the victory.

After a slow start, trailing 7-2, Petersen had several close takedowns on landed shots and eventually secured a takedown to cut the deficit to two points. After an escape, Petersen nearly landed another attack on Frost, who was able to counter and secured the takedown to secure the match.
At 184 pounds, Aidan Brenot also nearly landed a couple shots into takedowns on #13 Isaac Dean, including one late in the third and another in sudden victory. However, Dean countered on a shot in sudden victory and was able to scramble into the clinching takedown.
