NDSU Travels to Denver, Oral Roberts

The Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (16-5, 6-0 Summit) will travel to take on Denver and Oral Roberts this week, concluding the first half of Summit League play.
        Thursday, Jan. 22     at Denver              8 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. MT
        Saturday, Jan. 24      at Oral Roberts     7 p.m. CT
 
Where to Watch: Both games will be streamed on the Summit League Network via the Midco Sports Plus app. Thursday's game at Denver will also air on Altitude 2.
 
Radio: Sam Neidermann will call the games on 107.9 The Fox and Bison 1660. Broadcasts can also be streamed on the NDSU Athletics app, as well as at GoBison.com/AllAccess for free.
 
Against Denver: Thursday will be the 33rd meeting between NDSU and Denver dating back to the 1993-94 season. The Bison hold a 23-9 advantage in the all-time series. NDSU had won 11 straight vs. the Pioneers until Denver won both games in 2024. The Bison rebounded to take both meetings last season.
 
Against Oral Roberts: Saturday will be the 44th meeting all-time between North Dakota State and Oral Roberts, with the Bison leading the series 25-18. NDSU has won 20 of the 29 meetings since ORU returned to The Summit League in the 2014-15 season, including a 79-77 victory in double overtime on Jan. 3 in Fargo.
 
Benchmarks: NDSU's last 7-0 start to Summit League play came in the 2012-13 season. The Bison have never started 8-0 in The Summit League.
 
Road Dubs: NDSU is one of 35 Division I schools to win at least five road games this season.
 
Three-Headed Monster: Entering this week, NDSU's top three scorers this season are separated by only one point. Markhi Strickland has scored 278 points, and Damari Wheeler-Thomas and Trevian Carson both have 277.
 
Nationally Ranked: Markhi Strickland is ranked 18th in the nation for field goal percentage (63.0%). Trevian Carson is 22nd in the country in steals per game (2.33).
 
Protect Home Court: NDSU has won 13 straight home games, which is tied for the 16th-longest active streak in the nation.
 
Significant Margin: NDSU is No. 20 in the NCAA for turnover margin at +4.0 per game.
 
On the Mark: Markhi Strickland is shooting 63 percent from the field, going 121-for-192. His 121 makes are the second-most among all D-I players shooting better than 60 percent this season.
 
Elite Rebounding Guard: Among players 6-foot-3 and shorter, Trevian Carson ranks third nationally for rebounds per game at 6.6.
 
Defend Without Fouling: The Bison are 29th in Division I for fewest fouls committed per game, with an average of 15.3.
 
Rise in Theft: NDSU ranks 34th nationally for steals per game this year after ranking 352nd last season. The Bison surpassed last season's steals total in just 13 games this year.

Good Company: Trevian Carson is on track to join Grant Nelson (2022-23), Tyson Ward (2018-19), and Dexter Werner (2016-17) as the only Bison in the past decade to lead the team in rebounds and steals.
