SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the fourth time this season, junior forward
Avery Koenen has been tabbed the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Koenen helped the Bison (13-2, 2-0 Summit) to three wins last week and extended their winning streak to 11 games, which is the longest active in the Summit League and tied for the seventh-longest in NCAA Division I this season.
Koenen averaged 20.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. She shot 72.4 percent from the field and 78.3 percent from the free throw line to go along with five steals, four assists and three blocks. The Montevideo, Minn., native closed the week logging her 10th double-double of the season with a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds at Denver. Koenen opened Summit League play with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in the win at Oral Roberts.
Koenen currently ranks in the top 25 nationally in double-doubles (4th, 10), field goal percentage (4th, 66.9), free throw attempts (4th, 110), free throws (8th, 79), defensive rebounds per game (14th, 7.7), rebounds (16th, 154) and rebounds per game (22nd, 10.3).
