Bison Roll to 83-66 Win over UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team outscored North Dakota by 18 points in the second half to run away with an 83-66 road victory on Saturday afternoon in Grand Forks.
The Bison trailed 32-31 at the half, but outscored the Fighting Hawks 52-34 over the final 20 minutes for the decisive victory.
NDSU has now won 13 of the past 17 games against the Fighting Hawks. The Bison improved to 21-6 on the season and 11-1 in The Summit League.
Sophomore Andy Stefonowicz led the Bison with 20 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. Markhi Strickland and Damari Wheeler-Thomas both scored 16 points for NDSU. Trevian Carson finished with nine points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
NDSU shot 56 percent for the game and made 10-of-25 (40 percent) from three-point range.
The Bison used a 16-3 run early in the second half to go ahead 49-37. Strickland had three dunks, and Wheeler-Thomas drained two treys during the NDSU run. The Bison maintained a lead of at least seven points the rest of the way.
It was NDSU's ninth road win of the season, which is tied for the third-most in the nation.
The first-place Bison will travel to Brookings, S.D., to play South Dakota State on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
