Zach McGlynn has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Indoor Field Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 3.
McGlynn shattered the NDSU school record in the heptathlon, scoring 5,975 points to win the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational. He broke the previous mark set by All-American Andy Lillejord at the 2013 NCAA Championships by 182 points.
The Stephen, Minn., native ranks sixth in the NCAA for the heptathlon this indoor season.
McGlynn's standout heptathlon performance included clearing 17-04.50 (5.30m) in the pole vault, clocking 8.18 in the 60m hurdles, jumping 23-06.25 (7.17m) in the long jump, throwing 44-0 (13.41m) in the shot put, sprinting 7.26 in the 60m, clearing 6-10.25 (2.09m) in the high jump, and finishing the 1000m in 2:45.88.
