FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team posted several strong performances Friday on the opening day of the Bison Open.
Bison sophomore
Quinn Roehl broke the facility record in the 1000m, winning in 2:27.21 to rank fifth-fastest in NDSU history.
Kaden Pastian won the weight throw with a mark of 63-09.50 (19.44m).
Thomas Huneke recorded a personal-best 59-09.75 (18.23m) for third place.
Senior
Jacob Knodle won the 3000m in 8:26.76, and
Ivan Askim took second in 8:38.60.
Gabe Miles took first place in the 300m dash, running 34.94.
Joshua Beil was the runner-up in 35.08.
After Day 1 of the heptathlon, Bison freshman
Owen Angell leads with 2,756 points.
Trey Knoke is in second with 2,694.
The Bison Open will conclude on Saturday.
