Bison Stay in First Place with 92-84 Win Over Omaha

FARGO, N.D. – Five North Dakota State men's basketball players scored in double figures as the Bison posted a 92-84 victory over Omaha on Saturday afternoon in Summit League play.
Noah Feddersen led the Bison with 18 points. Andy Stefonowicz and Markhi Strickland both scored 14, and Damari Wheeler-Thomas and Treyson Anderson each added 13. Stefonowicz registered eight assists with no turnovers in the game.
NDSU improved to 20-6 on the season and 10-1 to lead The Summit League.
Omaha's Paul Djobet scored 38 points to lead all players.
The Bison overcame a 15-for-31 three-point shooting performance (48 percent) by Omaha. NDSU shot 50 percent for the game and made 10-of-25 (40 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Bison led for 34 of the game's 40 minutes. NDSU held an 18-point advantage at 60-42 with 15 minutes remaining, and still led 73-57 with 7:30 on the clock. The Mavs drilled six three-pointers in the next four minutes and pulled within two at 80-78 with 3:10 to play.
Wheeler-Thomas scored back-to-back clutch buckets for the Bison, and NDSU hit eight free throws in the final minute to secure the victory.
The Bison play at North Dakota next Saturday, Feb. 14.
