NDSU Men’s Golf Finishes Sam Ryder Intercollegiate

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The North Dakota State men's golf team finished their second tournament of the spring season at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate at LPGA International – Hills Course on Tuesday afternoon.
Rylin Petry (76-70-74—220) and Jake Skarperud (76-73-74—223) had identical scorecards for the final round, each logging two birdies and 12 holes at an even-par to finish +2 on the day. Petry finished +4 overall in a tie for 20th, and Skarperud finished three shots back in a tie for 30th at +7.
Gabe Benson (79-80-75—234) carded his best round of the event of +3. The senior picked up a birdie on hole 8 and 13 holes at par in the final round to climb two spots up the leaderboard and finish +18 overall in a tie for 67th.
Andrew Ballou (76-78-76—230) was the final scoring Bison of the round. Ballou was even through a team-high 14 holes to finish +4 on the day and +14 overall in a tie for 58th.
Carter White (81-85-87—253) and Max Wilson (78-81-75—234) wrap up the NDSU golfers for the tournament. Wilson, who played as an individual, fired his best round of the event of +3 after logging birdies on hole 8 and hole 14. Wilson finished +18 overall in a tie for 67th. White was +15 in the final round to end in 83rd at +37.
The Bison (307-301-299—907) carded their best round of the tournament of +11 in the final round. NDSU finished in 13th place at +43 overall.
The NDSU men's golf team will have two full weeks off before returning to action at the Bell Bank Collegiate. Hosted by Minnesota, the tournament will take place at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona on March 23-24.
