NDSU claimed 2-of-3 from the Roos last season in Kansas City, winning 9-1 and 4-2, with Kansas City taking the middle game of the series 4-2. In the last meeting in Fargo in 2024, Kansas City claimed two of the three in the series.

Bison Sweep Summit League Honors Again
For the second time this season, NDSU Softball claimed both the Summit League Peak Performer and Peak Pitcher of the Week honors, after sweeping South Dakota. Jocelyn McClary earned her third Peak Pitcher honor of the season after the freshman recorded a pair of complete game victories, allowing just three total runs with nine strikeouts. Jessica Delatorre hit two home runs in the series and earned her first-ever Peak Performer honor.

Bison Seeing Double
NDSU hit 14 doubles over the last two series, including 10 in South Dakota. The Bison have 66 doubles this season, already 50 percent more than last year when NDSU totaled just 44 doubles.

All 13 Bison to record a hit this season have at least one double. Bella Dean leads the way for the Bison with 14, which is 31st nationally and first in the Summit League. Lileigh Nieto is also in double figures with 10 doubles.

Spring on the Road, the Bison Way
Last weekend, NDSU wrapped up a 37-game stretch on the road to begin the season with a trip to South Dakota. The Bison traveled to tournaments in Florida, Minneapolis, North Carolina, and Las Vegas, along with midweek games and non-conference trips to California Baptist and Alabama. NDSU also opened Summit League play at Omaha, and after the St. Thomas series was postponed, also played the series at South Dakota, before opening the home schedule in a make-up series earlier this week.

NDSU Produces Most Runs In Last Decade
NDSU totaled 35 runs in the three-game series at South Dakota, including 21 runs in game two of the series. 35 runs is the most for NDSU in a Summit League series since scoring 41 when the Bison swept Fort Wayne 18-0, 10-0 and 13-0 on April 18-19, 2015.

NDSU's 21 runs in game two of the series is the most all-time for the Bison in Summit League play and the second most in the Division I era. 21 runs was also the most in any Summit League game since April of 2022.

Swiping Bags
The Bison sit atop the Summit League this season in stolen bases (54) and stolen bases per game (1.35). NDSU also leads the league in Summit League play with 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts. The Bison have successfully stolen 30 of the last 32 overall and are 54 of 62 (.871) overall this season. Last season, the Bison led the Summit League in both categories, swiping 43 bags and averaging .86 per contest.

Turning Two
Once again, the Bison sit near the top of the league in double plays turned on the season. Defensively, the Bison have turned 17 doubles plays this season, which is currently second in the league. The .43 per game average, however, ranks atop the league.

Rounding the Bases
With three weeks remaining in the season, the Bison have 24 home runs, after hitting just 13 home runs in all of 2025. Bella Dean leads NDSU with six home runs, with Mya Boos adding her fifth home run of the year in the St. Thomas series to close the gap.
Jessica Delatorre, Amai Hanta and Zoe King also having multiple home runs. Five Bison have hit their first career home runs this season, including Boos, Star Cortez, Macy Fry, Lileigh Nieto and Morgan Zimmerman. In total, 11 of the 13 Bison to record a hit this season have also hit a home run on the year.

Last weekend at South Dakota, Jessica Delatorre hit home runs in back-to-back games and Amai Hanta also added her second of the season. Boos then homered in the win over St. Thomas on Tuesday.

Last Week
The Bison won four of six Summit League games from Friday, April 10 to Wednesday April 15. NDSU swept South Dakota in a weekend series in Vermillion, winning 4-1, 21-2, and 10-5. The Bison then had a makeup series to open up the home schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, taking one of three from the defending co-Summit League champions. NDSU opened the series with the Tommies by winning 10-2 in six innings. St. Thomas then won 10-2 and 8-3 in a doubleheader to take the series.

Next Up
The Bison will wrap up the road schedule for the regular season, traveling north on I-29 to face in-state rival North Dakota. NDSU opens up the series with the Fighting Hawks on Friday night with first pitch set for 6 p.m. from Albrecht Field. On Saturday, the Bison and Fighting Hawks are set to get underway at 1 p.m. and then they will also close the series out on Sunday at 1 p.m.
