SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the third straight season, senior Madi Hicks has earned a spot on the Summit League Academic All-League Team, the league office announced on Thursday.
Hicks registered a 4.0 grade-point average in management information systems and joins McKenzie Mages from South Dakota State as the only players to earn the award three times.
Hicks was named the Summit League Scholar of the Championship this season and earned a spot on the All-Summit League First Team for the first time in her career after carding a team-best 74.3 scoring average. The Victoria, Minn., native was the first Bison player to garner first team honors since 2018.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors (SIDs) and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs.
In order to be considered for the academic all-league golf team, a student-athlete: must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); must have completed at least one full academic year (two semesters, three quarters) at the current institution; and must have participated in 50 percent of their team's completed competitions.
