NDSU Volleyball Rolls Past Seattle, 3-0

SPOKANE, Wash. – The North Dakota State volleyball team picked up its second straight sweep after cruising past Seattle, 3-0, at the Zags Volleyball Classic at the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Bison won their fourth straight match and closed out non-conference play with an 8-2 overall record. It marks the most wins in non-conference play since the 2023 season. Seattle falls to 3-7 with the loss.
Lauren Jansen led the way with a match-high 12 kills to go along with nine digs and three blocks. Arianna Blohm tied a career-best eight blocks with five kills, while Sarah Pfiffner passed out a match-best 29 assists with eight digs and three blocks. Rya Borer contributed a match-best 13 digs with four assists and two service aces.
After trading points to open the contest, the Bison grabbed momentum putting together eight straight points to steal an 18-11 edge after an ace from Maddy Dombeck. The Bison then extended their lead to 22-14 with a kill from Pfiffner. NDSU closed out the frame, 25-18.
The Bison built an 11-8 advantage with back-to-back kills from Zoe John to open the second set. NDSU then stretched its lead to 23-17 with a block from Blohm and Emma Tallman. The Bison held off the Redhawks the rest of the way, 25-22.
NDSU started to put the match away in the third frame with five straight points capped off by a solo block from Kendall Worwa to make the score 13-7. The Bison then stretched their lead to seven, 21-14, with three straight points, including two blocks from Blohm. NDSU went on to win the set, 25-19, and the match, 3-0.
NDSU will back in action to open Summit League play hosting St. Thomas on Thursday. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m., at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
