2021 SEASON (JUNIOR):
 Selected to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team...Went 7-0 as NDSU's starting quarterback over the first seven games of the season...Left the Missouri State game with a shoulder injury and sat out the following week against Indiana State...Returned to play in the final seven games of the year as a backup to Cam Miller...Finished third on the team with 660 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns...Carried 19 times for 92 yards and one TD in a win at North Dakota...Named MVFC Newcomer of the Week for his performance at Illinois State, where he had 18 carries for a season-high 100 yards while passing for 124 yards and one TD...Carried 11 times for 98 yards in the national championship victory over Montana State...Averaged 5.8 yards per carry...Went 55-for-101 passing with six touchdowns and four interceptions over the first seven games before his injury...Did not throw another pass after returning to play.

2020-21 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in three games during the fall semester for Virginia Tech...Completed 7 of 10 passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns...Also rushed 15 times for 67 yards and one score...Came on in relief duty vs. NC State (9/26) throwing for two TDs and rushing for another, registering 122 total yards...Transferred to North Dakota State for the 2021 spring season, but was not eligible to play in games.

2019 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in seven games for Virginia Tech including one start...Registered 50 carries for 241 yards with two TDs and also completed 14 passes for 257 yards with two scores...Saw his first duty of the season with one carry vs. Duke (9/27)...Came on in relief of an injured QB Hendon Hooker in the second half vs. North Carolina (10/19), setting career highs with 21 carries for 122 yards, including a 53-yard TD...Completed three passes for 54 yards, including an 18-yard TD and scored the game-winning two-point conversion in a 43-41, six-overtime win that was the longest game in ACC history...Earned a spot on the PFF College Team of the Week for his efforts...Made his first career start the following week at Notre Dame (11/2), completing nine passes for a career-best 139 yards with an eight-yard TD and also ran for 77 yards...Completed two passes for 64 yards at Georgia Tech (11/16) and also ran the ball nine times for 40 yards with a two-yard TD. 

2018 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Saw action in three games during a redshirt season at Virginia Tech...Rushed twice for 11 yards in his first career appearance at North Carolina (10/13)...Had two carries for 10 yards vs. Boston College (11/3)...Registered five carries and completed a nine-yard pass at Pitt (11/10). 

HIGH SCHOOL: Quarterback MVP at Nike’s The Opening Regional...Earned an invitation to participate in Elite 11, the nation’s premier quarterback competition, in Beaverton, Oregon...Winner of the 2018 Watkins Award, given to the nation’s top African-American high school senior male student-athlete...Made the Presidential honor roll all four years...Selected to play in the 2018 Blue-Grey All-American Bowl and represented USA Football in International Bowl IX...Threw for 1,359 yards and 15 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,146 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior … Patterson played for head coach Matthew Erlenbaugh.

PERSONAL: Majoring in university studies...Son of Quincy and Kimberly Patterson...Has three sisters, Kimberly, Kalah and Kia.
