2022 SEASON (SENIOR): Returned for a fifth year of eligibility due to COVID-19's impact on the 2020 season...13th in the voting for the Stats Perform Buck Buchanan Award, presented annually to the FCS Defensive Player of the Year...First team All-America by the Associated Press, Stats Perform, Phil Steele, Athlon Sports, HERO Sports and FCS Football Central...AFCA All-America second team...All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team...Started all 15 games at defensive end...Eighth in NDSU single-season history with 17.5 tackles for loss including 9.0 sacks...Career-high nine tackles against Southern Illinois...Tied a career high with 3.0 tackles for loss against North Carolina A&T...Blocked a 34-yard field in the NCAA quarterfinal win over Samford...MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award...Third straight year on the MVFC Honor Roll.

2021 SEASON (SENIOR): Started the first three games of the year at defensive end before suffering a season-ending knee injury Week 3 at Towson...Made four tackles including one solo tackle for loss in the home win over Valparaiso...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

2020-21 SEASON (JUNIOR): Second team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association...Phil Steele's All-America third team...All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team...Played in all nine spring games including seven starts at defensive end...Made 21 total tackles including a team-high 8.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks...Third on the team with four pass breakups...Also credited with one quarterback hurry and one forced fumble...Blocked an extra-point kick in the win over Illinois State...Season-high six tackles in the spring season opener against Youngstown State...Had 3.0 sacks in the win at Missouri State...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

2019 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honorable mention...Played in 15 of 16 games, missing the season opener against Butler due to an injury...Started four games at defensive end in the middle of the season...Made 40 tackles and was second on the team with 11.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and six quarterback hurries...Matched a career high with four tackles at South Dakota State including a strip sack recovered by the Bison...Also had four tackles in NCAA playoff wins over Illinois State in the quarterfinals and James Madison in the championship.

2018 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Selected to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team...Named to Phil Steele's Freshman All-America third team...Played in all 15 games on the defensive line...Also part of the kickoff return and punt return units...Made 22 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks...Had two tackles including a solo TFL in his debut against Cal Poly...Season-high four tackles twice at Western Illinois and Missouri State...Recovered a fumble in the win at South Dakota.

2017 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2017 graduate of Watertown High School...Three-year starting defensive end for coach John Hordorff...Team captain as a senior...All-conference in 2016 after making 52 tackles with 5.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, four blocked punts and one blocked punt recovery for touchdown...Finished his career with 104 tackles, 10.5 sacks, four punt blocks, one fumble recovery, one interception and two TDs...Sioux Falls Argus Leader Elite 45 honoree...Selected to the South Dakota all-star game and EPS All-America Showcase in Dallas.

PERSONAL: Graduated from NDSU in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in general agriculture...Son of Lynn and Lana Waege...Has three brothers, Walker, Hunter and Tanner...Cousins Tyson and Taylor Zemlicka were linebackers at Northern State University.
