Josh Kittell spent more than two years as the director of football recruiting at North Dakota State University from 2019 to 2021. He had previously served on the NDSU football staff as the offensive quality control assistant for the 2015 season.
Kittell returned to NDSU after three seasons as head coach from 2016 to 2018 at the University of Jamestown, where he was the offensive coordinator in 2014.
He was the wide receivers coach and special teams co-coordinator at Minot State in 2012 and 2013 and a graduate assistant for the Beavers in 2010 and 2011.
Kittell was a three-year starting quarterback at Jamestown, where he was the 2007 Dakota Athletic Conference co-MVP and in 2008 ranked second in the NAIA in total offense with a DAC-record 3,345 yards.
He set 10 of 13 quarterback records at Jamestown including a career-record 51 touchdown passes, single-season record 2,938 passing yards, and the single-game record for TD passes with six.
A native of Garrison, N.D., Kittell graduated from Jamestown in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He played professional football in Germany with the Franken Knights.
