Border States congratulates Paige Vargas, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Vargas, a freshman right-handed pitcher from Mission Viejo, Calif., has a 3.824 GPA in exercise science. Vargas pitched a 1-0 shutout victory over South Dakota State on April 14 to help extend NDSU's winning streak to 20 games. She scattered six hits and struck out three to record her third shutout of the season. Vargas has an 11-4 record and 3.60 GPA in 19 appearances with 78 strikeouts in 103 innings.
