Border States congratulates Jared Franek, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.

Franek, a sophomore sport management major from Harwood, N.D., won a hard-fought 4-2 decision in sudden victory against No.20-ranked Cade DeVos of South Dakota State, helping lead NDSU to a 21-13 win in a Big 12 matchup at the SDSU Triangular. He also defeated Cayd Lara of Northern Iowa. With the win in both bouts, Franek's record sits at 3-1, and is ranked 13th in the 157-pound weight class.
