Border States congratulates Maddy Nilles, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Nilles, a sophomore from Sherrill, Iowa, registered a new weight throw personal-best of 66 feet, 8 inches (20.32m) to win the event at Saturday's Jim Emmerich Invitational. She improved her mark that ranks No. 2 in school history by more than 1 foot, and she stands among the top 15 in the NCAA this year. Nilles has a 3.351 GPA in human development & family science.
