Border States congratulates Payton Otterdahl, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Otterdahl, a junior from Rosemount, Minn., recorded a personal-best toss in the shot put, launching a winning throw of 68 feet, 7 inches (20.90m) at the NDSU Tune-Up. Otterdahl now claims the No. 1 spot on the NCAA performance list this season by an 11-inch margin. He jumped to No. 4 in the United States and No. 10 in the world in the shot put, shattering the NDSU school record by over three feet. Otterdahl won his fourth career Summit League Outdoor Athlete of the Week honor. He has a 3.115 GPA majoring in education.
