North Dakota State Women Topple Bemidji State 80-49

FARGO, N.D.--Brandee Gibbs scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as North Dakota State University defeated Bemidji State University 80-49 in a women's basketball game played before a crowd of 1,290 at the Bison Sports Arena.

North Dakota State improves to 2-0, while Bemidji State dips to 1-2 on the season. The Bison are scheduled to play Southwestern Oklahoma State at 12 noon Thursday, Nov. 25 at the Texas A&M Kingsville Turkey Day Shootout.

Gibbs, a 6-foot-4 junior from Hanover, Minn., hit 8 of 11 from the field in topping her career-high scoring effort for the second night in a row. Kate Lorenz netted 12 points, dished out six assists and had four steals. Gibbs and Lorenz were the only two players in double-figures, as all 12 Bison who played scored.

Stacia Swanson led Bemidji State with a game-high 20 points, while Allison Sanderberg tallied 14.

The Bison, who led 45-24 at halftime, held a 48-28 advantage on the boards. NDSU had 24 second chance points and also scored 30 points in the paint.
