NDSU Prominent in I-AA.Org's Inaugural 2004 Weekly All-Stars & Noteworthy Games

CHICAGO, Ill. (8/30/2004)--The news service I-AA.org has announced the selection of its inaugural 2004 collegiate football Division I-AA weekly All-Stars.
The All-Stars for the week ending 8/28/04 are as follows (name, height, weight, class, position, home town, school and opponent for this week):
* Efrem Hill, 6-2, 175, Senior, Wide Receiver, Atlanta, Ga., Samford vs. West Alabama
Hill, an All-American pass catcher, picked up where he left off last season by grabbing nine passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns as Samford held off a tough challenge from Division II West Alabama. Hill had TD receptions of 84, 40 and 21 yards as he accounted for 18 of the Bulldogs' 34 points in a 14-point victory.
* Alvin Robinson, 6-0, 238, Junior, Defensive End, Sumrall, Ms., North Dakota State vs. Valparaiso
Robinson piled up 10 tackles, four of them of the solo variety to help the Bison record their first season-opening shutout since 1974. Robinson had one tackle for a two-yard loss. The Bison limited the high-scoring Crusader attack to 85 yards rushing and 95 yards in the air. Valpo managed just 82 yards of total offense in the second half against the Robinson-led defense. The Crusaders never got past midfield during the game.
* Kyle Steffes, 5-11, 204, Sophomore, Running Back, Dickinson, N.D., North Dakota State vs. Valparaiso
Steffes helped North Dakota State break into the I-AA ranks in fine fashion as he rushed for a career-high 175 yards on just 13 carries in the Bison's smashing 52-0 victory over Valparaiso. Steffes scored four touchdowns on runs of 43, 14, 34 and two yards.
* Nick Turner, 5-10, 182, Junior, Running Back/Kick Returner, Atlanta, Ga., Murray State vs. Glenville State
Turner was a star both rushing the football and as a special teams performer as the Racers crushed Glenville State, 56-3. Turner helped Murray State to a 21-0 second-quarter lead, scampering 65 yards for a touchdown on a punt return and scooting 28 yards for another score on the ground. The Mississippi State transfer rushed 13 times for 106 yards, caught two passes for 43 yards, returned six punts for 102 yards and brought back one kickoff for 27 yards. One of Turner's receptions went for a 38-yard gain, the longest of the night for the Racers. He piled up 278 yards of all-purpose yardage for the night.
In addition to the All-Stars, several games of note were recognized.
Game of the Week: North Dakota State 52, Valparaiso 0--North Dakota State began play in I-AA in rousing fashion by blowing out the 2003 Pioneer Football League champion before an opening night record crowd of 18,665 at the Fargodome. Kyle Steffes rushed 13 times for a career-high 175 yards and four touchdowns, three in the first half as the Bison rolled to a 38-0 halftime lead and never looked back. North Dakota State held Valpo to 180 yards of total offense, forced three turnovers and piled up five quarterback sacks. Valpo's All-American wide receiver Rob Giancola was held to two receptions for 14 yards and was knocked out of the game in the second quarter with an injury.
