Kari Weidner Named Women?s Associate Golf Coach at North Dakota State University

FARGO, N.D.-- NDSU Women's Athletic Director Lynn Dorn announced Kari Weidner has been named women's associate golf coach at North Dakota State University.
Weidner will assist fourth-year head coach Diane Fedje-Weisgarber as the Bison open up the 2005 season at the Hawkeye Collegiate Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on September 9-11. The Bison will be returning all seven golfers from last season along with incoming freshman, Jenna Buckwalter.
"I'm excited to be here. It's great to work at the Division I level," says Weidner. "It's a great team this year and am looking forward to bringing NDSU up a level as we compete more against Division I schools."
Weidner has worked with the American Junior Golf Association, Junior World Golf Championships, and as a teaching professional with the LPGA, specializing in the teaching and club division. She was also the assistant golf professional at San Diego Country Club in San Diego for four years.
A Fargo native, Weidner graduated from Concordia College where she was a starter on the golf team for four years and was a Division III All-American.
"We are pleased that Kari will be able to assist Coach Diane Weisgarber," Dorn said. "Her credentials, coupled with Diane's, provide the women golfers at NDSU with outstanding coaching. As a tandem, they are among the best."
