Box Score FARGO, N.D.--Utah Valley State stormed back from a 16-6 deficit in the third game to sweep North Dakota State 30-23, 30-25, 30-25 in college women's volleyball Friday, Sept. 30, at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Jessica Endres belted a match-high 18 kills for Utah Valley State, which hit .316 as a team in the match. Endres hit for a phenomenal .773 attack percentage with only one error in 22 attacks.
Endres held serve for eight straight points late in the third set, helping Utah Valley State bounce back with the longest of several flurries in the match.
Utah Valley State setter Lacee Koelliker served six straight points to get the Wolverines (6-6) back within five points at 17-12.
North Dakota State was up 22-17 before the Wolverines scored eight straight points.
Endres' kill made it 22-18, and she served the next eight points. Back-to-back kills from Anne Olsen tied it at 22 and put the Wolverines ahead for the first time in Game 3.
An Olsen attack error six points later brought the Bison (1-17) back to a 25-all tie, but Utah Valley State used a pair of Koelliker aces and kills from Brooke Adams and Olsen to close out the victory.
Kelly Lopez led the Bison attack with 10 kills, and Christy Stuewe hit .462 in the match with seven kills and one error in 13 swings. NDSU hit .177 as a team.
Koelliker had 47 assists and four service aces to pace the Wolverines' attack.
North Dakota State is scheduled to play at Iowa State on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.
