
Harris Lifts Kansas State to 83-81 Win Over North Dakota State

FARGO, N.D. (AP)--Lance Harris scored 24 points and the game-winning 3-point field goal to lift Kansas State to an 83-81 victory over North Dakota State Saturday.
Harris' 3-pointer with 21 seconds left gave the Wildcats an 82-78 lead. After Ben Woodside nailed a 3-pointer for NDSU, Harris made 1 of 2 free throws for the final margin.
Woodside, who led all scorers with 31 points, missed a contested shot in the final moments.
NDSU (5-3) led 38-31 at halftime and built a 10-point lead with 14:54 left in the game.
Harris' 3-pointer with 8:29 left gave K-State (6-3) its first lead since the opening minutes of the game.
Cartier Martin scored 18 points and David Hoskins 17 for Kansas State.
Woodside, a sophomore point guard, scored 23 points in the second half.
Bison senior forward Andre Smith scored 23 points and hauled in 16 rebounds. NDSU outrebounded the bigger Wildcats 40-24.
NDSU's biggest lead of the first half was nine points after a basket and free throw by Smith made it 20-11.
After the Wildcats tied it at 29-all on a layup by Blake Young, NDSU closed the half on a 9-2 run, including six points by Woodside, to take a 38-31 lead.
A sellout crowd of 6,110 was on hand to see Kansas State snap North Dakota State's 10-game home-court winning streak.
The Bison host Idaho next Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
