Box Score CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The North Dakota State soccer team dropped a 1-0 decison to Miami (Fla.) in the Hurricane Cup on Sunday, Sept. 12. The Bison had their five-game unbeaten streak snapped and are now 3-1-2 this season while Miami improves to 5-2-1.
After a lightning delay of just over an hour, the Hurricanes notched the only goal of the game in the 7th minute. Kate Howarth put the ball in the upper left corner off an assist from Fatima Nasser.
Freshman Stephanie Jacobson tallied NDSU's only shot of the first half as the Bison were outshot, 11-1, in the opening frame.
Seniors Candice D'Arcangeli and Marissa Wolfgram both tallied shots on the goal in the second half, but Hurricane goalie Vikki Alonzo saved both attempts.
Redshirt freshman goalie Kathy Kelsey made five saves in the loss.
The Bison host Mary Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the Ellig Sports Complex. It will be NDSU's fifth game over the span of 10 days.
