FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University Bison women's soccer team (5-6-0, 1-1-0 Summit) tallied a 1-0 shutout victory over the IUPUI Jaguars (2-8-3, 0-2-0 Summit) on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Dacotah Field to snap a six-match losing streak and pick up their first Summit League win of the season.
Sophomore Amy Yang broke a scoreless draw in the 77th-minute and gave the Bison a 1-0 lead after she netted the first goal of her collegiate career, a strike from the left side of the penalty box, on a feed from senior Anisha Kinnarath.

NDSU outshot IUPUI by a commanding 17-7 margin for the match, and took five corner kicks compared to three from the visitors.
Bison junior goalkeeper Sierra Bonham made one save and allowed no goals to pick up her second shutout of the season and improve to 5-6-0 overall between the posts. IUPUI goaltender Catherine Schmidt saved six shots, but allowed the winning goal to take the loss and drop to 1-4-3 on the season.
The Bison are scheduled to return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. in Omaha, Neb., for a Summit League match against the Omaha Mavericks.
