Bison Basketball Hosts Kennesaw State in 2k Classic Sub-Regional Friday

This Weekend's Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team hosts a four-team 2k Classic sub-regional consisting of Kennesaw State, Hampton, Alcorn State and the Bison on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22, at Scheels Arena. NDSU will play Kennesaw State on Friday following Alcorn State vs. Hampton, and the two losing teams and two winning teams will meet on Saturday.
Both NDSU games will begin at 7 p.m., with the early game starting at 4:30 p.m. both days.
2k Classic: This weekend's games mark the conclusion of the 2014 edition of the 2k Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. Each of the four schools opened their seasons with two road contests at high majors between Nov. 14 and Nov. 17. NDSU played Texas and Iowa, Kennesaw State played Syracuse and California, Hampton played Iowa and Syracuse, and Alcorn State played California and Texas.

With 11 straight home wins, the Bison are tied for the 15th-longest home court winning streak in the nation.
Home Openers: North Dakota State has won 10 straight home openers since beginning Division I play in 2004-05, including last year's 93-49 victory over Viterbo. NDSU's last loss in a home opener was November 2003 when Northern Michigan beat the Bison 60-55 on the first night of the U.S. Bank Classic.
Two Great Years: With 50 victories over the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, the Bison had the most successful two-year stretch in program history.
Last Year: With an overall record of 26-7, NDSU finished the 2013-14 season 32nd in the official NCAA RPI -- an all-time high mark that it also reached in January. Shooting Prowess: NDSU won the Division I team field goal percentage title for the 2013-14 season at 50.5 percent. Out of the 351 D-I teams, only the Bison were above 50 percent.
Game No. 100: Lawrence Alexander poured in 21 points and a career-high six three-pointers in his 100th career game at No. 25-ranked Iowa on Nov. 17.
Every Game: NDSU senior guard Lawrence Alexander has started all 100 games in his career.
From Downtown: Alexander made a career-high six 3-pointers at No. 25 Iowa on Nov. 17. He is shooting 10-for-21 (47.6 percent) from beyond the arc through two games.
Good Company: With 37 points in his first two games, Alexander has moved into 20th all-time at NDSU with 1,168 career points. He had 1,131 points through his junior season -- the most by a Bison since the trio of Mike Nelson, Brett Winkelman and Ben Woodside in 2008.
Dishing It Out: Alexander's 352 assists through his junior season are the fifth-most in NDSU history.
Experienced Junior: Kory Brown started 65 games for the Bison prior to his junior season -- an all-time NDSU record he shares with teammate Lawrence Alexander.
