AMES, Iowa – John Crockett rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns to power North Dakota State to its FCS- and school-record 25th straight victory 34-14 at Iowa State on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Carson Wentz was 18 of 28 passing for 204 yards in his first career start for NDSU, which scored 34 unanswered points to beat its fifth straight Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.

Wentz completed passes to eight different players with wide receiver Zach Vraa making eight catches for 96 yards and tight end Kevin Vaadeland totaling four catches for 48 yards.

Iowa State led 14-0 after Aaron Wimberly scored his second touchdown on a 3-yard run early in the second quarter, but Crockett went a career-long 80 yards on NDSU's next play to cut the lead to 14-7.

Wentz hit Vraa on a 44-yard pass to set up Crockett's 1-yard TD run that tied the game 14-14 with 4:22 left in the second, and NDSU's Adam Keller kicked a 19-yard field goal to close out the first half.

Keller added a 21-yard field goal, Crockett scored from 3 yards out, and Chase Morlock exploded for a career-long 66-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
