SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Senior Lawrence Alexander led the North Dakota State men's basketball team with 15 points and came up with a block on the game's most crucial possession to lift the Bison to their third straight berth in the Summit League Tournament championship game on Monday night.

NDSU (22-9) will meet No. 1 seed South Dakota State in the championship game tomorrow night at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Bison held the Golden Eagles without a made field goal over the final 3:56 of the game. Tied at 56-56 with 1:19 remaining, NDSU's A.J. Jacobson drove the right side of the lane for what proved to be the winning basket.

With NDSU leading 58-56 in the final 15 seconds, Alexander blocked a three-point attempt by ORU's Bobby Word, corralled the rebound, and sank two free throws to seal the victory.

The Bison benefitted from a balanced scoring output, as sophomore Carlin Dupree tallied 13 points and Jacobson added 11. Dupree led NDSU with seven rebounds.

Oral Roberts (18-14 overall) was led by 25 points from first-team all-league guard Obi Emegano. The Bison limited ORU to 38.5 percent shooting in the contest.

NDSU trailed 22-19 with seven minutes left in the first half before going on a 15-4 run to close the half. The Bison outscored the Golden Eagles 7-0 over the final 3:30 of the opening period to lead 34-26 at the break.

Alexander became the fifth player in NDSU history to surpass 1,700 points for his career. At 1,711 points, he needs seven more to move past Joe Regnier (1985-89) for fourth place on the NDSU all-time scoring list.
