FARGO, ND. – North Dakota State University head men's golf coach
Steve Kennedy announced on Wednesday, April 22, junior college standout Jacob Montplaisir has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and play golf for the Bison beginning in the fall of 2015.
Montplaisir joins North Dakota State after spending two years at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz.
A native of Gilbert, Ariz., Montplaisir was named a second-team All-American his sophomore year at Mesa after tallying a 74.09 scoring average. He was also a two-time all-region honoree as a member of the Thunderbirds.
Montplaisir finished 11th at the Division II Junior College National Championship Golf Tournament as a sophomore.
Prior to his time at Mesa, Montplaisir enjoyed a successful high school career at Dobson High School, where he was a four-time all-region selection.
North Dakota State completed the 2014-15 regular season with six top-10 finishes, including runner-up performances at the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational and USD Coyote Classic. The Bison are scheduled to compete in The Summit League Men's Golf Championship May 1-3 at La Purisima Golf Course in Lampoc, Calif.
